Terms of Use

These terms govern the hosted PromptPotter instance at
app.promptpotter.com and this website. The operator is
David Streuli, Switzerland. Accepting them
in the app is what lets you run anything; your acceptance and its version
are recorded on your account.
They cover the service. The PromptPotter software itself is separate and is licensed to you under the MIT-RG License in the repository, not under this page.
The account
You sign in with Google. An account may be active or pending: a pending account exists but cannot run anything yet. Running is free and bounded by a per-account spend ceiling rather than by an invoice — when the ceiling is reached, the account stops running campaigns. We may adjust that ceiling, and we may decline or close an account.
One person, one account. Do not share credentials, and do not create additional accounts to get around the spend ceiling.
What you may submit
The hosted instance is for non-sensitive material only. You agree not to submit passwords or credentials, personal data about other people, anything confidential, or anything you do not have the right to share. We keep what you submit and read it to improve PromptPotter, which is precisely why this limit exists — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that means.
If your material does not fit that limit, run PromptPotter yourself. It is open source, installs on your own machine, and then nothing you run passes through us.
Your content stays yours
You keep every right you have in what you submit and in the prompts the optimizer produces for you. You grant us permission to store it, to process it in order to run the service, to send it to the model provider a campaign is configured to use, and to read it in order to improve PromptPotter. Nothing here transfers ownership, and we do not train models on it.
Acceptable use
- No unlawful use, and nothing that violates a model provider’s own terms.
- No attempt to reach another account’s data, to escalate your own privileges, or to probe the instance for the purpose of doing either.
- No automation aimed at exhausting the shared provider keys or rate budget. The instance is shared; draining it takes it from everyone.
- No resale of the hosted instance as your own service. Standing up your own from the source is expressly fine — that is what the license is for.
What is not promised
The service is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. There is no uptime commitment, no support commitment, and no guarantee that a campaign improves your prompt or that any measured gain transfers to your own workload. Campaigns run against third-party models whose behavior can change without notice.
We may change, suspend, or stop the hosted instance at any time. Keep your own copies of anything you would not want to lose; a free instance is not a backup.
To the extent the law allows, our liability arising from your use of the service is excluded. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for intent or gross negligence.
Ending it
You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your data — see Privacy, which is honest about the fact that deletion is currently done by hand rather than on a schedule. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Law
Swiss law applies, and the courts at the operator’s domicile have jurisdiction, to the extent that consumer-protection rules in your own country of residence do not give you a different forum.
Changes
These terms carry a version. When it moves, the app asks you to accept the new version before you continue, and records that you did. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it.
